What is the NielsenIQ Retail Measurement Systems and Analytics Certification?
Master the tools retail professionals use every day.
The NielsenIQ Retail Measurement Systems and Analytics Certification teaches you how to use NielsenIQ's Retail Measurement Services (RMS) platform to analyze point-of-sale data and develop actionable business recommendations. RMS is the industry-standard tool for measuring sales performance, market share, distribution, promotional effectiveness, and pricing across retail channels.
This course is built around practical application. You will work with real NielsenIQ tools, data sets, and analytical methods across six sequential modules. Four hands-on challenges simulate actual business scenarios, and the course concludes with a proctored certification exam. A score of 80% or higher is required for certification. All assessments can be retaken an unlimited number of times.
Learners who successfully complete the course receive a digital Certificate of Completion from Arizona Online. A printed certificate is available upon request. This micro-credential does not provide academic credit toward a degree program.
Who Should Take This Course?
This certification is open to anyone. No application is required. It is especially well suited for:
- Professionals working in retail, CPG, category management, trade marketing, or merchandising
- Students preparing for careers in retail analytics or brand strategy
- Business analysts and data professionals looking to add retail measurement expertise
- Anyone who works with NielsenIQ data and wants formal, credential-backed training
A general understanding of retail business practices and basic Excel skills are expected. No prior experience with NielsenIQ tools is required.
A Partnership Built on Retail Expertise
The NielsenIQ Retail Measurement Systems and Analytics Certification is offered in partnership with the Terry J. Lundgren Center for Retailing at the University of Arizona.
Named for retail industry leader Terry J. Lundgren, former CEO and executive chair of Macy's Inc., the Center connects University of Arizona students and professionals with the retail industry through corporate advisory partnerships, applied research, and hands-on learning. That same industry connection shapes this certification: the curriculum is grounded in the tools, metrics, and reporting standards that retail and CPG professionals use every day, not a theoretical overview of the field.
This partnership is what allows Arizona Online to offer world-class content backed by both academic rigor and real industry practice. Learners work with the same NielsenIQ Retail Measurement Services (RMS) platform used by professionals at leading retailers and consumer brands, applying it to challenges modeled on real business scenarios rather than hypothetical case studies.
Whether you're a working professional building on-the-job expertise or a student preparing to enter the field, this certification gives you a credential shaped by the same institution that trains the next generation of retail leaders.
